Penny's Sweet Shoppe was inspired by a lot of things - a craving one night for something delicious, anxiety about the world seemingly out of control, an even bigger craving one afternoon for something delicious, and Charles Schultz's beloved Lucy of Peanuts fame, who — if you believe cartoon characters can talk — once said, "All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"
It's so true. At Penny's Sweet Shoppe, we believe a little chocolate now and then, combined with ingredients you love and we love, is essential to a well-rounded life. We don't recommend eating too much or you'll be too well-rounded, if you get our drift, but a treat every day gets you through the rough times and makes the good times that much sweeter.
Want to know more about Penny's Sweet Shoppe? Penny is a reclusive creative genius, the dessert world's equivalent to J.D. Salinger and Thomas Pynchon. You may have seen Penny on TV, heard Penny on the radio or seen Penny walking down the street. You'll never know. But you can love the same things Penny loves. Penny makes everything in small batches using only the finest — and most delicious — ingredients. No matter where you are, everything you order from Penny arrives wonderfully fresh.
One more thing you should know. Penny seems to inspire a direct connection to a Higher Power. Customers are known to bite into one of her treats and say, "Oh my God, that's good." Others call them heavenly. One customer, after eating a box of "Those Things," wrote and said, "Dear Penny, There must be a God because you've answered my prayers." Try 'em. See if you don't agree they're divine.
